another tiring and packed week has passed. i am beginning to dread how time flies. the past week was spent working on projects and presentations. i thought i would mind working late or having to bring home work to do but i realised that i actually enjoyed spending my time working late and still go to office early the next day to finish up my tasks! till date, i have learnt so much just from talking to my colleagues and boss. people who are willing to grab hold of any opportunities presented to them are admirable. moving out of their usual comfort zones and look towards building up a future career. i am really impressed with their courageous and risk taking attitudes. how they took the big step forward and start from scratch, even if a long time is required to achieve a minor thing, the kind of never ending perseverance is what i wish to possess. i want to be like them, slowly accumulating every little experience to eventually fulfilling my dreams.
despite the busy work schedules, i feel energised at the end of each working day. simply because i really feel comfortable working and talking to my colleagues in the regional PM team. sigh. but sometimes i feel suffocated as i have to sit through two ops meetings each week. oh man, those meetings are the one of the worst anyone can ever handle or encounter. i feel appreciated and encouraged with my PM team's comments about the work i produced but at the same time i have a really weird feeling that the FM team doesnt really like me. just because some things they are supposed to handle are passed down to me cos uncle ho thinks i have the skills and abilities to do them well.
office politics are scary. every ops meeting i attend is filled with so much tension that i dont even bother to make any comments regarding any issues. and they were so unhappy with me and the entire PM team that i was pinpointed during the meeting yesterday! damn la. i am not even handling facilities or some established researcher and they asked me to research on radioactivity in luminous materials and fire extinguishers. pearlin even challenged me about the fire suppression systems presentation i made earlier on and compared it to fire extinguishers! explained to them the difference but they just didnt understand. oh well, general knowledge and working adults with so called experience in facilities management for more than 30 years dont know a single thing. argh. thought of yesterday's 3 hr meeting makes me frustrated.
spoke to uncle ho over lunch today and i think that everything he said was quite true. given opportunities, will you turn them down because you feel that its adding on your pile of work? sometimes i feel some people do not think long term. all that revolved around them is the near future. i personally feels that this is shallow cos everyone should live for the future, not just the present.
haha this week is such an eventful week. had a talk with david during our usual morning breakfast in pantry and somehow we spoke about religions. i dont usually discuss about such controversial topics because i have personal reasons but it was just interesting to find someone with the same thinking!
went to the PC show yesterday evening after work with vinny! haha. so i got a GPS and cooling fan for my laptop. she bought the latest olympus camera with waterproof and shockproof functions! i want one too! hah but i have budget constraints if not i will get a bright pink one for myself too. lol. ahh! but actually i dont mind getting it. haha, ok nvm. shall wait for the next PC show and i will get better deals. what a way to self comfort.
yay! its another weekends! i am so excited. haha. oh yea suhui! i am alright la. hehe. nth much cos the rash went off already! haha but next time no alcohol for me! my colleagues laughed at me and said i was lousy. haha rings a bell, honwei? a big bunch of meanies! haha but i love them all. hehe. =)
